A Little

About

Me

Nestled in the heart of beautiful British Columbia, I’m Jennifer, and I’m here to share my passion for food and cooking! Inspired by my incredible Grandma Ella, this blog is a warm hug on a plate.

While I may spend my days keeping the little ones on track at the local elementary school, my true magic unfolds in the kitchen. Here, you’ll find a treasure trove of Grandma Ella’s cherished recipes, passed down with love for generations, alongside some of my own delicious creations.

Get ready for dishes that bring families together, filling your home with the mouthwatering smells of happiness! Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting your culinary journey, Ella’s Cookbook offers something for everyone. So, grab a spoon, pull up a chair, and let’s get cooking!

Okay, I love food!

Ella’s legacy lives on through these pages. You’ll find some recipes lifted straight from her well-worn cookbook, spattered with love and notes in her beautiful handwriting. These classics are the foundation of my own culinary journey, each bite a warm memory. I’ll also share my own creations, inspired by fresh seasonal ingredients and maybe even some kid-friendly twists. Here at Ella’s Cookbook, you’ll only find food I’d serve my own family. Quality ingredients, delicious flavors, and a dash of creativity are what makes my kitchen special.

From exploring the exotic flavors at the grocery store to trying out new recipes, my taste buds love to travel (even if it’s just in the kitchen). I enjoy creating new dishes and putting my own spin on classics. The real joy, though, comes from cooking with loved ones and sharing a delicious meal. Join me on this culinary journey as we explore, one recipe at a time!

A little more personal

Life here in British Columbia isn’t all about cooking, though it does play a starring role! When I’m not whipping up something delicious, you can find me chasing after my three energetic kiddos or exploring the beautiful outdoors with my husband, Chris, and our loyal golden doodle by our side. We also have two mischievous cats who always seem to find their way underfoot in the kitchen.

The ocean breeze is a constant source of inspiration, and weekend getaways to the coast are a family tradition. But the most cherished moments are always those spent around the table, sharing a meal and laughter with the people I love.

Grandma Ella was truly the heart of our family. Her unconditional love and warmth embraced everyone who came through her door. There was never a time when you wouldn’t find a pot simmering on the stove or a plate piled high with cookies. In fact, the only thing she seemed to cherish more than good food was a house full of family.

Grandma Ella was my inspiration in so many ways, especially when it came to cooking. Her passion for creating delicious meals filled our home with warmth and love. After she passed away, the world felt a little less bright. But her legacy of love and food lingered in my heart. Fuelled by a desire to keep her memory alive and share her incredible recipes with the world, I decided to create Ella’s Cookbook. Here, you’ll find dishes that evoke precious memories, passed down from her well-worn cookbook along with love notes in her beautiful handwriting. Join me on this journey as we celebrate Grandma Ella’s love for food, one delicious bite at a time!
